In a flat film extrusion line, the die is the essential piece of the system that is at the end of the barrel or head, since it gives the shape that the polymer will have in its final application. For accurate uniformity in the thickness of the film at the exit of the die, the fundamental factor is the design and the correct distribution of the temperatures along the same, as well as the adjustment of the lips where the plastic will flow and take its final form.

The flat die extrusion process offers some variants with respect to film extrusion, being the method to obtain sheets in various thicknesses and widths for various uses and applications of thermoforming of trays, containers and packaging such as: blister pack, trays, clamshell, bases and domes for cakes, among others, for the agro, food, automotive, consumer and electronic sectors.

At LPET we use this extrusion technology and by 2022 we will have a standardized capacity that will allow us a projected production of 1,750 Ton / month (3,850,000 Lb / month) of PCR PET monolayer sheets that meet food safety standards certifications such as the FSSC 22000 V. 5.1 and FDA in its section 21 CFR 177.1630, which will provide us with unmatched flexibility and responsiveness in offering high quality food grade raw material.

This way, our clients who currently see us as their extrusion department, will have full assurance that with us, their orders will be in a timely manner according to a plan stipulated 30 days in advance. This standardization and growth will allow us to extend to more, both current and potential clients, the confidence so that they can come with their standard requirements such as those that involve new product developments in RPET monolayer sheets, thereby serving national and international markets.
